Fellow Residents:
Don and Valerie Shute erected a fence last fall on their property line
with Shipyard Park in an effort to prevent trespassers from trashing their
lean-to structure bordering the North River. Originally built with barbed
wire, they were kind enough to respond to concerns of our Association about
the danger to youngsters playing in the area and replaced the barbed wire
with smooth wire.
The wire was cut several times last fall and increasingly so this spring
as trespassers have left beer cans and other trash in the lean-to and on
adjoining property. The Shutes have not yet called the police who have
offered to stake the area from time to time.
We should be alert to any who may appear to have this intent in mind
and who are probably entering through Shipyard Park. Forestalling further
trespassing may well prevent more serious consequences when the offenders
are found.
